During my university reading week, I went to Milan just for 3 days with my mother as a belated 19th birthday trip. I’d never been before but fell in love with the city as soon as I stepped foot in it – the architecture, the food, the language   – everything was just beautiful. Luckily, we were staying very centrally, on the Via Alessandro Manzoni, right next to La Spiga and Via Monte Napoleone, which are all amazing streets in the “Quadrilatero della Moda” (the fashion district). My favourite place was the Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II, a shopping arcade next to the Duomo and la Scala opera house.
